In this 2003 video, In the backyard… a garden hose comes to life and plays the serpent in a suburban reenactment of the biblical Fall; the Christian utopia is here transformed into a balmy, backyard Garden of Eden. Our contemporary Eve, played by the artist herself, enters the scene and proceeds to dance suggestively with the hose, her movements directed by an ominous off-screen male voice. Resembling both a filmed rehearsal for a hip hop video and an amateur porno, the video highlights the fine line between these two contemporary genres of entertainment.
