"Collective/ Performative" in conjunction with Every Exit is an Entrance:30 years of Exit Art
Exit Art collaborates w/ Grace Exhibition Space. Curated by Jill McDermid of Grace Exhibition Space.
I'm most privileged to be in the last exhibition series Collective /Performative (Week 2) at Exit Art while working under the direction of Grace Exhibition Space (Brooklyn, NY). There will be performance art workshops all week and collaborative performances on April 7th.
I will be collaborating with Rafael Sanchez on the evening of April 7th.
(I am feeling very hyped up for this last Exit Art performance with Rafael, so please mark your calendars!)
I plan to give a workshop on the afternoon of April 3rd @4pm titled, Character, Costume, Concept & Collaboration.
I'll also be featured in selected performance art footage from Exit's past exhibits, Performance in Crisis, 2009 and Serious Games, 2007 as part of Every Exit is an Entrance: 30 Years of Exit Art, which opens to the public March 24-May 19, 2012.
Hope to see you at the opening on March 23.
(More info on the details of our performances will follow as the dates draw nearer.)
It would be great to see you all.
Many thanks for your undying support!

Collectivity: Art Making in a Collective (tART @ JCAL)
Please take a look at our Kickstarter campaign link below and make a donation towards our groundbreaking exhibition, Collectivity: Art Making in a Collective at Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning curated by Heng-Gil Han. There is no press release yet as we haven't raised appropriate funding to install and print catalogs for this exhibition, but it is in the works as our Kickstarter is getting some serious backers! But we still need your help! That's why I am letting you know this NOW!!!
Info on the show:
Selected members of the tART Collective will exhibit works at Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning from April 4 through June 6, 2012. The exhibition titled Collectivity: Art-making in a Collective, examines ways in which members of the tART collective produce work while simultaneously being part of a creative artists collective. What impact does peer studio visits, collaborative projects and collective dialogue have on individual art production? Heng-Gil Han curator at Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning will survey these issues and more through a curated exhibition of a select group of tART Collective members. The exhibition will place work created prior to members inclusion in the collective alongside current work; thus providing an opportunity to appreciate the significance of collaboration and collective endeavors to individual artists aesthetic and conceptual shifts, constants, and changes. Considering the recent proliferation of collaborative projects and collective groups of artists, we believe that this survey is appropriate and relevant to understanding the current state of art. However, it provides only a fraction of the whole value of collective and collaborative working methods. No attempts so far have been made to specifically examine how collective working methods play out on the level of individual artists production, which places weight to this exhibition. We hope that you consider supporting us to successfully tackle this important task by donating any amount you can afford. Your donation will cover the production of the show and the printing of an issue of the tART zines in which we will report the outcomes of our investigation. We sincerely appreciate all levels of your supports.

Living Walls: A Citywide Art & Urban Education Conference. Albany, NY. Sep.16-18, 2011
http://livingwallsalbany.com/index.html
Living Walls Albany is a public symposium on a grand scale. A meeting of the minds, brushes, spray cans and other more obscure modalities of expression. For three days Albany will become the cultural center of New York State.
Throughout the city a series of lectures and workshops will be delving into the sustainability, livability and cultural future of our historic region. Old buildings will be brought new life by national, international and local visual & performance artists.
This process will be a visible testament to the significant heartbeat the arts provides our region.
Our primary goal is to bring tangible changes to the communities of Albany, while offering an insight into the potential of what a galvanized art community can provide.
Living Walls is an act of aesthetic resurrection for our abandoned lots, desecrated buildings and their surrounding communities.
Such a project is platform for engaging the public space and expanding the horizons of knowledge within the realm of art and beyond.
